Presented : Dec. 2014, Mumbai; published : Peter Lang, Berlin, 2018, P. 333-339 Abstract This article is broadly divided in three parts : The first part deals with the relevant terminology of the postmodern and medial aesthetics by Wolfgang Welsch and the concept of ‘fictional immersion’ in film appreciation by Chriatiane Voss. The second and the main part of this article discusses intermedial aspects and strategies at length while analysing Vikas Wsarup’s novel ‘Q & A’ and its adaptation in the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ . The third and the final part will draw some cunclusions and present comments of the author on the postmodern and medial aesthetics, ‘fictional immersion’ as well as neocolonial aspects of the film adaptation.
